The Society for Surgical Ergonomics is pleased to announce a call for abstracts for our upcoming Inaugural Virtual Symposium scheduled for Friday, Sept 23, 2022.

Important Dates:

Abstract Submission Opens: February 24, 2025

Abstract Submission Deadline: April 13, 2025

Acceptance notification date:  June 2025

Disclosures/conflicts of interest forms will be distributed to authors once abstracts are accepted for presentation

​

The following types of submissions are welcome: original research (including previously presented or recently published works), pilot and ongoing studies, case studies, and thematic literature reviews.  

 

Submissions will be peer-reviewed.  Authors are allowed to submit more than one abstract for review.

 

Topics of interest include physical and cognitive human factors/ergonomics topics relevant to surgery and surgical teams.  Examples include work-related musculoskeletal disorders, risk assessment for workplace injury, mitigation/change management/implementation, wearables, instrument/equipment usability, data analytics, cognitive ergonomics (including OR acoustic environment, distraction, decision making under stress/fatigue) etc.
